About Tru-Luv

Hi, my name is Tim. I own and operate anything and everything Tru-Luv Rabbitry. And NO, my rabbits do not put food on my table. I have a day job and raising rabbits is my hobby. I could not remember exactly when my love and passion for pets started but I remember very clearly my very first rabbit. I was 5 years old when I first own a pet rabbit. It was the typical REW rabbit given to me by my neighbor. It was the product of an accidental litter from their pet rabbits and like typical 1st timers, they thought mommy rabbit was not taking care of them. I cannot remember its name and all I know is that, my neighbor had hand raised it till about 3 weeks old before passing it to me.  Unfortunately, it did not survive. Since then, rabbits has been a big part of my life and I successfully bred and raise my 1st litter of local rabbits at the tender age of 8 years old.

I remember very clearly the first time I set eyes on the Holland Lop. I do not believe in love at first sight but the Holland Lop made me believe otherwise. The “Bulldogish” look was just unforgettable. It was 2006 when I met my 1st Holland Lop on the internet. I stumbled across The Nature Trail Rabbitry owned by Laurie Stroupe (has since left the hobby). The cute faces of GC The Nature Trail’s Myrddin & GC The Nature Trail’s Rio was so captivating that I made up my mind to embark on this wonderful journey. The rest as they say, is history.

Since then, I have met many wonderful people who shared this wonderful hobby with me. I dare say that I have gone through many ups and downs in this hobby. But time and time again, I was “rescued” by the many wonderful friends I met. After an unsuccessful attempt in acquiring good foundation stock, my big break came when Scott Rodriguez (Ivy Crescent) and Kay Miller sent me a wonderful quad to help me build my herd. Teri Reymann (Sonshine Rabbitry) later contributed a doe that has proven to be invaluable. With these 5 rabbits, the future of Tru-Luv Rabbitry has been partially written. Partially because there are many more lineages and bloodlines that I would like to add to my herd and the hobby does not end here.

Today, I can proudly say that the Tru-Luv line hails from highly competitive and reputable lines namely Lop Til’ You Drop, Butler Boot Camp, Laymons, Dove Hill, Rabbit Hole, Camelot and LOV besides from the above-mentioned. Riding on the Rabbit Showing wave and while staying true to its objectives, Tru-Luv Rabbitry will always strive to produce highly competitive home grown Holland Lops without compromising the TLC each rabbit needs.

The journey has just begun…

The Rabbitry Name

Tru-Luv (pronounced as True Love) Rabbitry is a fairly small home-based rabbitry established with the objective of producing and developing the best pedigree Holland Lop rabbits in Malaysia.

Since it is the main objective of Tru-Luv to achieve higher standards, the size of the herd will always be controlled because individual attention is a must for all rabbits. Currently specialized in Holland Lops, one of my visions is to create awareness among local rabbit enthusiasts regarding basic husbandry, diet and other general rabbit care.

I constantly seek opportunities to improve the quality of my rabbits. I have very nice pets to offer enthusiasts with good intentions and have the best interest of their pets at heart.

Tru-Luv practices ethical raising & breeding of Holland Lops similar to rabbitries worldwide. A proud member of HLRSC (Holland Lop Rabbitry Specialty Club, US) since April 2008 & the American Rabbit Breeders Association (ARBA), Tru-Luv rabbitry will always strive to adhere to the standard of perfection laid down by these organizations.
