Chestnuts Visit!

Today TLR is very honored to have a very special couple visiting and taking photographs of the rabbits. As I have mentioned many times before, friends are the most important part of this hobby and along the way, I must say that I do not have many friends in this hobby but those that I have the privilege to befriends with are very special to me. I really appreciate the CHESTNUTS dropping by Meadow Haven. I do hope they both enjoy their short stay here (wasn’t that short actually). Love the chat. Thunder:

Thunder’s fur is growing back nicely. But I must mention that no matter how he is being shaved, this boy’s bone is super thick! Absolutely LOVE this little guy!

Holly Hope:

She out of condition due to nursing. She is absolutely broodish!

Skor:

Skor is pretty awesome and it has been a while since he last posed for me but he did quite a good job naturally.

It has been difficult to get photos that could see his eyes

Wonders if Darlie needs an ambassador. I am sure Skor would fit!

I have been asked which is my favorite rabbits among all that I have. My heart is normally partitioned equally among all living things that I care for. But there is a little bit more for this wonderful doe. She’s AMAZING! Adesh and Shahfiq had fun capturing her on stills. Take a look at all the poses that she could come out with. Absolutely adorable!

Confusing Black & White World

We brought Skor to visit one of our dear friends and his children – Tridus, Tinga and Truffles. Truffles and Bugsy are boarding over with D & TJ. That’s the amazing thing about having bunny friends. Traveling couldn’t be much easier without friends to look after our furkids.

Truffles and Bugsy’s owners are out of town celebrating Eid with their families. I was suppose to take them in for boarding but had some last minute changes and they ended up with D and TJ. Since we can’t have them over for boarding, we decided to drop by their house for a little gathering.

I was looking forward to putting Skor with his two sons together for a little family portrait.

7.2 lbs Holland Lop!?

The standard calls for Holland Lops to be 4 lbs (MAXIMUM) and that’s approximately 1.8 kgs. And look what I found out about the Rabbit Hill’s Skor.

A Whooping 7.2 lbs!!!

The scale showed 3.25 kgs! My eyes nearly popped out their sockets!

I was so attracted to the way Skor was posing that I forgotten that someone tweaked my scale. After a quick adjustment, I got the right figure. He weighs almost 1.9 kgs or 4.2 lbs. just 0.2 over the standard.

That's 1.9 kg. What a relief!

With the does, breeders usually do not mind if there are big and ugly. Brood does come in many shapes and sizes. It made me wonder sometimes if there is such thing as a “brood” quality buck. I dare say now that my question has been answered. If we need those normal and big does to avoid getting peanuts, I believe normal/false dwarf bucks could be used with true dwarf does to help us get true dwarfs and at the same time avoid getting peanuts.

Skor is a very chunky huggable bunny. You’ll be tempted to give him a good squeeze if you see him. Don’t all Hollands make you feel the same?

Father & Son Day Out

Someone wanted to have a look at Truffles today so I woke up very early and started packing. I figured that it would be nice to bring Skor along. I promote ethical breeding and I believe showing at least the father of the kit would be the best thing to do. If I could, I’ll pack Holly Hope along but she’s having yet another “Honeymoon” with Clark at the moment.

Looking at these 2 fellows is super hilarious. They are so identical. If you have ever heard of the “Clone Wars”, then you’ll understand what I mean. It is amazing how Skor’s genes was stamped onto little Truffles. It made it all seemed as though Holly Hope was just a host or surrogate mother.

“Whatever. You look bored. Ever date the honies buhnies before. Look at me, am I top bun or what?”

“Don’t speak too soon bunster, I date and made more honies buhnies than you so far”

“Let me see, there’s a Carmel, a Haley, a Holly Hope. Life’s good I must say”

“Alright bunster, you’ve gone too far there”

“Bring it on Skor boy, tell me what ya got”

“Not much just a Noobie, a BlueBerry, a Bandie, one Adinna and a Holly Hope”

“Now that’s nothing to me”

“No bunster, with the 3 honies buhnies I had Luna, Tinga, Muffet, Eclipse, Charlyz, Moesha, Truffles, Camior, Seychel, Shiro Milkyway to just name a few. So now, what say you?”

Tails From Meadow Haven Chapter 9: Mirror Mirror On The Wall

“Hey you there!”

“I said, hey you there!”

“Oh man, there’s this one that looks exactly like me staring at me each time I stared at it”

“I noticed that too!”

“Oh really? All I can see from here is some dark thing moving around. Those belong to you both?”

“Did someone just said something?”

“I thought I heard something to but the mouth isn’t moving”

“Let me trying moving a little”

“My goodness! It’s following you!”

“Maybe its on the other side”

“No, it smell exactly like….ME!”

“You can actually smell it from there?”

“Yeah, but this is the smell that I smell all day all night. Is it me or you?”

Old Man Skor

Seemed like a shadow of the past, Skor remains in Meadow Haven. One of the last of his kin. I do not have much complains about Skor. He is still my favorites although I have not written about him as of late. When he came to me initially, he was a good poser and we have seen how well he posed previously. Now, weighing at 1.7kg and approximately 3.7lbs, he’s got a few white strands on the black patches. I am still very pleased with his fur texture though. I guess he is still well kept and conditioned.

Something To Help Us All Get Back On Our Feet!

After being hit by the devastating news about Luna, I got a called from a very close friend informing me the passing of another high school friend. Everyone seemed to be dying young these days. As you can see, I am really really down. I hope today passes quickly. R.I.P. my brother Kahlil. May your soul be blessed. Please know that Luna’s waiting for you up there if you need a companion.

Before I stepped into the house, I knew I must snap out of this bad vibes. And that is just what I did. At the back of my brain, I am a very broken person. But somehow, I just needed the strength to summon up the courage to keep negativity at bay. The moment I see them, I felt there is a mutual exchange of strength. How can I ever live without them?

“No, you’re in my turf, you answer me first. I don’t give a tock if you asked me first, who are you?”

“Alright, alright, my name is Thunder. My man here’s Clark, there’s a lady up there somewhere is Carmel and the other lady higher up there is Haley”

“Who sent you?”

“You did!”

“Now now, don’t tell me you are all cybernetic organisms!”

“Nay, we’re Ivy Crescent’s & Miller’s Lagomorphas. Our bun masters came to know that there are tons of work to be done down here. So they sent us. We’ve got work to do. Get this place cleaned up and all!”

“You’re all here on work assignment?”

“Not really, we’re here to stay actually”

“Come on, are you serious? The only working buck here is me and I am the boss here!”

“Not anymore my friend. We could work together if you want to”

“I Skor, the descendant of GRIMLOCK works with no one! Skor is boss!”

“There’s no need to be a cry baby now Skor. We’ve got enough ladies in the house. May the best buck win”

“But master say I am his favorite”

“We still are Skor. Master won’t abandon us. We all have our destinies to fulfill. Just like when BlueBerry was sent up north. I have got news they rebuilt Meadow Haven there. It looks better than the old Meadow Haven too!”

“You really think so, Noobie?”

“Yeah, I overheard master telling his friend the other day that he’s bringing us to get some New Turfs (Noobie’s version of NEUTER). And he also said that we could stay together forever from then on”

“That sounds good. With the New Turfs, we can spread our empire far and wide! Hey losers, you heard that? I’m gonna be the new king of the New Turfs! You can do all the works you want back here in Meadow Haven”

Chilling Over The Weekend

I wasn’t feeling too well over the weekend. I guess the rabbits got the queue from me because they all were chilling. Just like me sleeping all day and night. Sorry if I seemed to be writing a little more than nothing. Just can’t find the inspiration in the midst of this cough, “human snuffles” and fever. I hate it when these combine into a deadly combination.
