Alfafa Hay Shortage or Outage?

This is the worst nationwide (Klang Valley area) Alfafa shortage ever! PLC out, Pet Family out, Pets Wonderland closed down (1 Utama). And I had no choice but to get cheated by this pet shop in Damansara Uptown. They charged me RM15 for a repacked of 700g. They claimed that it was 1kg. Maybe it was 1kg to begin with before the hay got dried up. Should have taken the Benjy pack instead. They are definitely not fresh but I am convinced edible.

I hope Kool Bunny alfafa arrives soon. Even Timothy Hay has limited stock. The petshops usually carry 1st cuts but now only limited 2nd cuts.

Oh NooooOOOooooOOooOoooooo……

Photo shoot

I got my sister-in-law to capture some nice pictures of Skor today. The rest of the herd are not in good shape to participate in the photo shoot. LOL…

Here are some of my favourites:

Similarity?

I was going through one of my favourite Holland Lop websites and came across this page on Kit Development.

It suddenly struck me on how similar my kits looked with those in the photos on this website.

I am convinced that the 2 “black” ones are CHOCOLATES. See for yourself:

Flamed by Eager Beavers….

More PHOTOS!!! That’s what I am getting at the moment from eager beavers hoping to catch a glimpse of the kits and their everyday growth.

I am so sorry I was tied down the past couple of days running around doing some other stuff besides peeping on the kits 24/7. I only check on them 2 times a day just to make sure they do not fall out of the nest.

I just reserved this entry so that I could post more photos later. BTW, I prefer blogspot much more than multiply because it is much easier to upload photos. Therefore, you guys are just so lucky for that since blogspot does not make me lazy to post photos….

Adinna & Skor Day 10

Happy Days Ahead

If all goes well, the rabbitry will be relocated in another few months. Rumor has it that all bunnies will be indoors. This would be a great 2008!!!

R.I.P. Runtney

If you ask me whether I feel sad losing another kit I would definitely answer YES. Mainly because I always hope for 100% survival rate in my breedings. Unfortunately, nature does not give you a perfect picture all the time. I have tried to do whatever that is within my control to intervene so that a life could be saved but somehow, mother nature is always an impossible force to reckon with.

Somehow being a breeder, I learned that it is a must to let go whenever I need to. I even console myself with the believe that only the best should survive and losing a runt can be seen as a good thing because other reputable breeders also mentioned that most runts will grow up with complications and they somehow go through a slow and painful death.

A Runt In Every Litter

I just noticed that there is a runt in Bandie’s litter. It is very wrinkly and I have got a feeling that it would not survive. I tried to intervene by holding Bandie down so it could suckle. Unfortunately, it does not show interest in suckling at all.

I really do hope it survives…

Bandie kindled…

Got news last night that Bandie started pulling fur at approximately 11pm. The final headcount this morning was 4 kits.

Therefore, it confirmed 2 things. Bandie’s pelvic was not affected by the break when she was young and 31 days gestation period is very accurate.

I just cannot wait to go back home to see all those cute pinkies. I am just so looking forward for that and on a personal note, I miss my daughter very much.

Bandie due today

Today is Bandie’s due date. The last I checked, she has not kindled yet. It seemed that kindling can be delayed to as long as 35th day. I hope it is a safe delayed rather than a bad one.

Really wanted to be there for her but just can’t…FRUSTRATED….

I got news that one of Adinna’s kit was a little thin and my dad helped me intervene.
