My favorite solid tort doe has been adopted today by a person whose name also begins with an A. LOL. Hope they find joy in each other’s company. Each time a bunny goes to a new home, I do not have much to elaborate. I believe it is always a good beginning for each and everyone of them. I just have to wait and see when the new owners get back to me on their progress.

Goodbyes : Tru-Luv Kneesa, Choco & Blackie…
It wasn’t difficult for me to release three of them to my relatives. They have been good with pets and it was such a good time to have them take the 3 of them because they have just lost their last hamster not too long ago.
Such a happy & joyous day to see them cuddling the bunnies. It is really fulfilling to be able to share my rabbits with people who truly appreciates. Hope that they will be good bunnies.
Oh darn! No photos…

Sale or Adoption? Farewell Lumix
Before I proceed, I just want to say farewell to Lumix. Floppie’s new owner showed interest in him and I felt that it would be great to release Lumix to him. You can almost sense it when someone is really genuine and sincere.
I recently found myself asking this question – in what circumstances do I give up my rabbits for sale or adoption? when do I charge and when do I give for free?
I usually put 8 weeks old kits for sale. Not because they are cute and attractive. Mind you, kits between 6 to 16 weeks old can be super duper ugly. It is the ugly phase just like a puppy between 3 and 7 months. As I was saying, I put those kits up for sale not because to make a profit out of them and for your information, I make more losses then gains having this hobby. But it is all for the betterment and joy of breeding good specimens to be shared. In the case of a sale, I always believe that if things are given for free, it is very likely that they will be taken for granted. And for the effort and all the expenses I have put into raising these delicate kits to weaning stage, I deserve something in return. Maybe it is not profit but at least a reasonable amount to make up and to affirm my hard work. A predefined token of appreciation that is.
As with adoption, the word itself has a lot of negativity tagged to it. Most of the time when you hear the word adoption, a regular person would think of REJECTION right away. In the case of my rabbits, it is a far cry from rejection. To me, all my rabbits are the best and putting any one of them up for adoption does not mean they are rejects or they are not up to expectations. And I choose to give them up for free just for the same reason. If a person can show appreciation for an animal which is not cute (like when they were younger), I believe that is true love. If a person can see beyond the age factor and adopts my rabbit, I would appreciate them that much so not to charge them. That is the reason behind why my adult rabbits are given for up for free. Basically I am in debt to the person who is going to take good care of the wonderful pet that I used to have and I guess it is fair not to ask.
The world is very fair in my eyes. In giving we receive and in receiving there is giving…

More of Yohji
I must say that Yohji is the luckiest of all the bunnies. He is neutered and have full range of the apartment to roam around.

Floppie
Bunny came back for good and we decided to change his name to Floppie. Just could not understand why some people just cannot love such a sweet thing. He is just so gentle and good natured. Will hold on to him until someone offers to give him a good home. Trimmed his fur a little today and gave him a long long combing. He is such a sweetie.
Many people say “the best things are free”. On the contrary I believe that in this era, people do not believe in such saying anymore just because the way things are being manipulated and people rather get some expensive junk to feel good about. I am not disappointed at all towards his previous owner nor whoever that could not accept him as he is. It is better for them to not take him in then to take him in and regret it on the long run.
Anyhow, he is well loved here.

Extended Family
I am very happy to have sold Yohji to this great couple. Through time we have became good friends. We even started a rabbit forum together and hopefully our objectives are achieved. If you are interested please register at Rabbit Realm. I recently got Yohji’s pictures and he looks lovely with his pose. I believe they have taken very good care of him. Yohji has got a companion too – Buttons. She grew up to be a stunner too. Both of them has been fixed and they are very well bonded.
I intended to raise my rabbits as house rabbits but it is very difficult because I do not have a place of my own. I somehow have an idea how I would want my indoor rabbitry to be and only time will tell whether my dream will be materialized. Yohji’s owners are the best people to advice on keeping rabbits in an apartment and I will definitely sought their advice when I have the chance to bring my bunnies indoors.
Till the next blog entry here’s the picture of Yohji (isn’t he CUTE!?):
