Ivy Crescent’s Haley

I noticed that I have not written much about this doe that will be the heart of my herd. If asked what is the perfect example of a Holland Lop that I have in mind, I’ll definitely point to Haley’s head. I share the same preference with Scott Rodriguez’ idea of how a Holland Lop’s head should be. Scott always mentioned that a Holland has got to have a head and I couldn’t agree more. Look at Hollands that place in most shows today and you will notice the massive heads. I strongly believe that a Holland Lop’s head is what makes it “bulldoggish”. Together with a massive typey body, it creates the cutest of all rabbits.

Every breeder breeds for certain styles and I love the heads on the rabbits that Scott breeds. Each time I see Haley, I feel really proud to have her. I wish that I could continue developing this trait in my lines.

At last, a decent side profile of Haley!

Isn't she the cutest bunny?

A heas so massive, it is easy to mistaken her for a buck!

Christmas props try outs #2

It’s been a while since I last took photos of Haley. What I like most about her is the massive head. She is very typey as well.

Isn't she amazing?

I can't wait to see how this one grow up to be

I am really loving this one already!

I prefer to take photos early in the morning with natural sunlight. This camera works better with natural sunlight – LOL!

Even Papadoom looks better!

I really have high hopes for this doe!

Next trait to work on is definitely BONES! We're getting there!

Day 4: Tru-Luv Mooruku & Papadoom

First of all, I just realized that my favorite Indian snack is Papadum – a crispy cracker must have whenever I dig into banana leaf. With that realization, I am switching Thosai to Papadoom – LOL! Talking about indecisiveness!

Anyhow, I was messing around in the rabbitry as usual and took some photos that I would like to share.

Joke of the day, Papadoom pee-ed on baby Beth. Talking about fire extinguisher, Papadoom shoots pretty far for a little wiggly…

My Haley Girl!

I used to watch this TV Series called One Tree Hill. I like the name Haley played by Bethany Joy Galeotti. What a coincidence. I now have both Haley & Bethany under my care. LOL!

Let’s Get Really Serious About This!

The weight of the Holland Lop is one of the most debated topic amongst breeders. It is also one of the most important characteristics of the Holland Lop. There is not compromise that a Holland Lop must not be heavier than 4lbs. I was also reliably informed that at the moment, most winning Holland Lops are pushing the 4lbs limit.

In order to get bulky and stocky Hollands, it is unavoidable that they pass the 4lbs mark just a tiny bit.

All these weight talk would be useless if one does not have a weighing machine. And today, Tru-Luv Rabbitry decided to invest on a weighing machine to ensure we adhere to the standards religiously. LOL!

I did some modifications to the weighing machine to include a basket so that the bunnies have a firm and good place to rest themselves. Guess who’s our first guinea pig? Whoops, guinea bun I mean.

Natural Beauties!

Thunder says: Hear Ye! Hear Ye! We would like to thank thy SB, P & D for dropping by to baby us all today! Special thanks & gratitude goes to SB for holding on so tightly to the heavy piece of black thing that has a fat telescope protruding out from the front, while following our every move tirelessly and clicking away (what a mouthful-that’s what the cheeks are for)!

Please note that Master Tim did not make us pose in these photos since we are given full authority over our publicity budget & planning. These are our own very creative poses. Not everyday is show day here in Malaysia!
