Rabbit Nutri-Drop Testimonials

I guess it is time to share the testimonials I have received thus far for this wonderful product called Rabbit Nutri-Drops.

Julie wrote:

My bunny was tired from a long travel and was not eating well and no poo and pee from her. Her tummy was getting a bit bloated. I gave her nutri-drops and within half an hour, her appetite was back and started to poo and pee. It is a miracle drops for bunnies when they are ill. Every bunny owner should have one in case of emergency

A Good Story For All Of Us

When we give life to toys, there will always be a story to tell. So it is with each and every one of our lives. Every one of us has a story to tell. Whenever I watch a film, I somehow try to derive at least a  moral value out of the story told in it.

The most touching part of this story for me was when Andy passed all his toys to Little Bonnie. Andy wanted someone to take good care of his toys and trust that Bonnie was the right person. On the other hand, the entire movie was about how the toys wanted to find a good home.

I know of some adults who reminisce their childhood so much that they start collecting action figures that they once had as children (and especially those that they regret destroying).

It is not any different if we would apply this story to our beloved pets. Like the toys, they are unable to tell us what they want or prefer but it is totally up to us the human to decide for them.

Most of the time our pets may live longer than our short lived impulse. Most of us only have love that can only last as long as the cuteness of our pets. Thereafter, most of our pets’ fate would be like Lotso’s.

There are also cases where our ability to care for our beloved pets may be short lived in situations such as relocation, a more demanding job or moving into a new place that doesn’t allow pets. In those cases, we really need to ensure that we find new homes that are similar if not better than their current ones.

What I am trying to say is,  LOVE your pet like a toy that matters and means the world to you! Even if you have to pass them down to someone else, find a good owner for them that will do the same.

May you and your pet make a good story together.

A cup of tea to greet 2010

I always admire young entrepreneurs especially those that uses their creativity in their venture. I recently struck a conversation with someone on my chat list that I have totally forgotten about and came to know that he is in an interesting business. He deals with printing but not the conventional type mind you. I believe he has been around for quite a while and only recently that I took notice.

After browsing through the samples, I thought it would be nice to get a little “customized” mug for myself. I am proud to say that I now own a truluvrabbitry.com mug – LOL!

How cool it is to wake up every morning to have a cup of tea looking at my bunnies!

I always enjoy a good service and Samuel was kind enough to go through all the interesting facts about his business at great length. What I love most about his business is the convenience. I don’t need to budge from my seat because his is an online business. All I did was to send him a picture and transfer some funds through the internet and my customized mug arrives in 2 working days!

What a lengthy post just to talk MUG? Here’s some photos and as usual, Carmel as a good model. LOL!

Isn't this cool?

Just look at the pretty model - LOL!

Full view of the cup!

Conclusion, satisfaction guaranteed!

Walk The Lines?

I am not sure if I have written about this issue but I suddenly felt the urge to write about it. It can be seen as an issue but some may not agree. As we all know, there are tons of rabbit breeders in this entire world. And most of the time we are caught up with “who is the best”. That is what rabbit shows or any other animal conformation shows do to most of us. If someone’s winning tons, that is definitely a sign of top crop/stock. But bear in mind that each breeder produces rabbits that are closest to the breed standard and also some go the extra mile to develop their own distinctive look – a trademark so to speak. If you think about it, if everyone interprets the SOP the same way, there wouldn’t be any variety. The SOP even call for varieties and especially in colors. Therefore, some breeders go for the extras e.g. bigger heads.

So as a new person coming into the hobby, how do you choose which breeder to obtain foundation stocks from?

There are generally 3 guidelines that we can follow:

1) Our preference

You may have a rough idea of what traits you like in a Holland Lop. If that is the case, search out for breeders breeding these particular traits and continue working on it. As much as you like to have a distinctive look in your rabbits, please do not overlook conformity to the SOP.

2) Lineages

This is always a controversial. Honestly, I have been fooled previously into believing that lineage is everything. Boy was I wrong. Some breeders tend to mislead newbies by flaunting and bragging about the lineages filled with GCs. Many breeders have shared with me about their failures in out crossing even in stocks with generations of GCs. I have came to believe that lineages should not be taken as the sole determining factor in choosing a rabbit. On the other hand, I must stress that some lineages work well with others and have been proven to produce good stock. Let me share with you my personal opinion about how lineages can be used as a PLUS point. GOOD breeders normally cull very hard and only retain the best of the best. Ethically speaking, they will never ever pass on something that they do not want to keep for themselves to a fellow show breeder. You just have to sort these honest breeders out and I must say that the quality of their stocks are always consistent. In every venture that we embark, it is definite that we will encounter dishonest people that are only in the trade to get quick bucks. Honesty or not is basically a variable and factor that we cannot control. Therefore, do not be fooled when someone tells you that this rabbit is the offspring of a Grand Champion or it has got 14 Grand Champions in its lineage. It does not really justify as it is not guaranteed that a GC will 100% produce a GC. It only increases the chances through selective breeding. Also, don’t go hunting for a GC and expect that every kit that it produces will in turn be a GC. Most often than not, you will be disappointed.

Simply put, only trustworthy breeders can be trusted when they talk about lineages.

3) The rabbit itself

This is the best determining factor in my opinion. If you are familiar with the acronym WYSIWYG, then you will know what I am talking about. What you see right in front of you is what you will get when you try to reproduce. Therefore, breeders normally chooses traits in 2 rabbits to complement each other.

There you have it. Some tips in choosing the right breeders to work with and hopefully no one gets rip off at the end of the day.

Back-2-Nature Litter Bedding

Back-2-Nature

Back-2-Nature

This is an overdue post that I should have written much earlier. Being such a procrastinator sometimes is not a good thing at all. As I have written previously, TLR supports and practices environmental friendly ways of managing the rabbitry. This is yet another environmental friendly litter materials that I am currently using. I know there are many recycled paper litter materials in the market but feeling the texture of Back-2-Nature litter bedding, I feel that is much more appropriate for rabbits.

Softer Pelleted Recycled Paper

Softer Pelleted Recycled Paper

I am sure most of you can relate with me as to how our beloved bunnies tend to “bring down the shower”. I could almost recall vaguely that someone once told that she could hear “fountain-like” noise when her rabbit take a leak. One of the reasons why rabbits without proper waste management stinks is because the owners are not using a litter material absorbent enough to absorb the pee.

Back-2-Nature is softer and in my opinion is able to absorb more efficiently and effectively. At the moment I am trying it on Seychel and it seemed to be working very well.

Educational Visits

I spend most of my time educating people about rabbits through the sharing of my experience raising them. I am currently preparing a little presentation entitled “A Hare Raising Experience” to help people understand rabbits and their basic needs.

This presentation is suitable for children and adults alike. I would be more than happy to conduct this presentation to anyone interested in educating the future generation of our country. Drop me an email and we can make arrangements for us (bunnies and human) to pay your school or organization a visit.

Recommendations for the rabbit world

There is a rabbit show documentary scheduled for release soon though I do not know when. The director Amy Do spent the last 5 years capturing the craze and passion surrounding the ARBA Conventions. I believe it has something to do with the ribbons – LOL!

I can’t wait for it to be out and hope I could get a copy of it to experience how a show breeder feels in such a highly competitive event. It is a fact that thousands of rabbits come from all over the U.S. to compete in this prestigious competition to garner the Best In Show title.
