BlueBerry x Skor Day 46

Two of them will be going to good home at the end of the month. I am holding on to 2 of them to evaluate their potential.

Also, I am renaming them due to the reason that my wife dislikes me naming our pets after humans and one of their new owners found it distasteful for me to name them after characters from Sex & The City.

Plump Mo

Found both Charl & Mo on the wire this morning. Apparently they managed to wiggle out of the nest box. Their sizes are still comparably different and I spotted a huge tummy on Mo. I could almost recognize the tummy which I have seen on Susie’s blog and it was the same one that I posted a comment asking about how the tummy got so big.

Also, I could relate immediately with her when she mentioned in one of her blogs that you can almost recognize a champ in the litter. I can see some potentials in Noobie’s litter although they are just 1 week old.

I realized that there are less photos taken on Noobie’s litter. I wonder why. LOL…

Shall snap some this evening.

Mo was fatter than this when I saw him this morning.

It is really funny how these 2 turned out. We have one big and the other smaller. One with almost full markings and the other filled with white. My wife relates them to Yin Yang. They also reminds me of photography where one seemed to be a fully developed photo whereas the other seemed to be the negatives.

These two really makes me laugh and I must give credit to Noobie. Seems that she could bring back to life even the smallest kit. Amazing…

There is no guarantee in LIFE

Every now and then, DEATH seemed to be knocking on our doors. It hits you when you least expect it. This is very true with us humans and as for rabbits as well.

Many of the rabbit deaths that I have encountered has indeed caught me by surprise. Often time, they have left me wondering if DEATH equates to FAILURE. Whenever I hear of death in rabbits, I seek for the reasons. Normally there will be tell tail signs before a bunny drops dead. I have been asked if the same thing will happen to other rabbits what has happened to Latara. It is just the toughest question to answer. I know my rabbits very well but not well enough to know when they will die.

How can I be certain and answer for Mother Nature? It is like asking when I will die. I seriously do not have the answer. I know many people tend to play God working with cloning and all. At the end, they are still unable to answer the most fundamental question. When will their clone die?

All I know is that, as long as we are still alive, we should just cherish whatever we have. Same goes to a rabbit. As long as they are still alive, we take good care of them and if Mother Nature decides to bring them home, at least we can say that we have done our BESTEST.

Idle Sunday

This will be the single post with the most photos of my herd. I am still trying to cope and figure out what really happened to Latara and I felt that before I loose anymore of them, it is only right for me to take a “family portrait”. None of the rabbits are left out in this photo session.

Just want to thank all who left comments and wishes. Really appreciate it guys & gals.

And to move on, I would like to churn up the little sense of humor that is left in me to present these photos:

While everyone’s asleep:

Guess what Skor’s up to?

Lastly, PEANUT NO MORE! This is little Charl today.

The end to the Tru-Luv’s original lineage

I am extremely devastated and sad to inform that Tru-Luv Latara has left us for rainbow bridge. My heart is wreaked!

My wife came into the living room this morning telling me that she thinks something is wrong with Latara. True enough, upon closer inspection, she wasn’t breathing!

There were no signs of her struggling. It seemed she just dropped dead almost like a heart attack. As though she did a DEAD BUNNY FLOP and died straight after. She was eating well this morning and she even greeted me when I place hay in her bowl.

I was just contemplating on her future for the herd.

Till we meet again sweet girl! I missed you already.

Going For Gold!!!

I know this has nothing to do with rabbits but just like to mention that one of my favorite sports is Badminton. Malaysia has yet to get a gold medal in the Beijing 2008 Olympics and this evening we saw our first chance to claim that first gold through our badminton singles player Lee Chong Wei.

Photo taken from http://www.thestar.com.my (Star Photo by Kamarul Ariffin)

Through his struggles he finally won his opponent South Korea’s Lee Hyun-il to book a spot in the finals going against China’s Lin-Dan.

And so, I came home to check on Charl & Mo. I must say that Charl is going for the Gold as well. He/she is doing alright. Not too wrinkly and there are signs that he/she is progressing well.

Charl’s progress

When I checked on the 2 kits last evening, I found that Charl was very much alive and although still on the tiny side, he/she was a burst of energy. He/she was able to wiggle through my fingers with great strength.

Praying really hard that he/she is just a small kit and will soon pick up in growth.

I will post more photos over the weekend.

Holly Hope is almost 4 months!!!

She used to pose really nicely but I guess she is going through the growth (ugly phase). I hope she continue growing into a beautiful Show Quality doe.

Charl & Mo: Day 3

I believe Noobie has been nursing them well but Charl looks a little “runty”. Mo is getting really huge and bigger than Charl. I am not too sure if Charl is a peanut or just a runt.

He look a little wrinkly on these photos. In this litter of 3, I could see a giant, a normal and a runt. It is very puzzling how mother nature works. I just hope that Charl will make it through and grow up healthy.

I am just praying hard that it is Mo that is growing up faster. But these photos really show my concerns:

My wonderful Two Tones (Black & White) World

I just cannot help but to feel rather sad and blue because currently Meadow Haven has got a lot of 2 tone rabbits. LOL. My rabbitry is filled with Blue & White and Black & White.

It brings back nostalgic moods of yesterday and back to the times of:

(image taken from Wikipedia)

Can you see the similarities with this guy and that fellow on my banner above?

I need SOLIDS!!!!

On another note, after going through all the pros and cons, I have decided not to tattoo my rabbits because of the stress and possible injuries. That being said, I will pass on the rabbits to fellow enthusiasts based on a trust basis.
