Change is the only constant in life (I think I got that right). How much the kits have changed within a short period of time. Here’s a little photo update.

I can’t remember when was the last that I have written something good and perhaps pictures speak thousand words. I believe the less I write, the happier some of the visitors of this blog would be – LOL! I have finally decided to go about enjoying my hobby and be more self centered because in the past, I have tried sharing crucial information to help my readers along and most often than not, it back fires.
Some of course are fast learners and they are now doing very well on their own. I am very happy for them. As it stands right now, I must say that Malaysia has some awesome rabbits. I do not mean mine as there is still a lot of work to be done here as far as I know. We have new bloodlines in our shore and some are not to be reckon with. I am really glad and excited at the same time.
All four of Wilma’s kits turned out to be boys. I plan on only keeping 1 or 2 out of those so for those who are interested in getting a buck as pet, do email me at truluvrabbitry@gmail.com. I cannot promise anything for now but I will place you on the waiting list and get in touch with you. I really need to strike a balance in the numbers that I keep. I definitely need more does right now. I am suppose to tattoo the boys today but somehow I am procrastinating. Also, they seemed too small for me to tattoo them right now. Hopefully next week, I’ll get down to doing it.
Holly Hope’s litter turned out to be a boy and a girl. The girl is growing up looking exactly like her at this age. They are really cute but I just hope that they look more of Balian than Holly Hope herself.
As for Sibylla’s litter, I really like how cute they are right now. I hope both of them are does as they look like keepers right now. It will be very nice to have a typey broken choc here.
BTW, I was told that my blog is extremely “poisonous” and most will buy any lop ear rabbit on impulse. Please do try refraining yourself as Tru-Luv Rabbitry do not support impulse buying. That is all that I wanted to write for today. Nothing interesting to share right now – LOL!

A couple of months back I wrote about the usage of toilet roll, particularly to hold loose hay together. Here was one of the photos that I have used.
I have found this phenomenon that I am about to share with you pretty strange and it is definitely not an isolated case. It has happened a couple of times already. Just take a look.
On a serious note, it is indeed a health hazard to the little bunnies. It is amazing how this one get into the toilet roll. As for Sibylla’s chocolate kit, it is grow up really pretty. I like the markings on her.

I miss Clark terribly today while spending time in the rabbitry. I really wonder when I will be able to get another just like him. I miss his crown mostly. He has the best crown definition in my opinion. To distract myself from the sadness, I decided to take some photographs.
Have a nice Sunday everybun!

This Fred boy can pose nicely if he wants to. He doesn't do it often but when he did, it was a sight to behold!
Seem like I am not the only person having photo shoot with my furkids, the Chestnuts had a session with theirs too. Check these out:
Thanks for the photos lovebirds!

Holland Lops are really nothing but surprises. The recent litters has been nothing but surprises and I am really excited about each and every kit in the nest boxes right now. The latest litter produced by Fred and Sibylla is such a huge surprise for me. I have expected some torts or blacks. One was black so my prediction was right. At first I thought the broken colored kit was a broken tort perhaps a darker tone. As days gone by, it seemed to look like a broken chocolate.
Why is it surprising? That brings us to the “B” gene of color genetics. Again, I turn to my favorite blog by Laurie Stroupe to get a better understanding of this gene http://www.thenaturetrail.com/BGene.htm.
Now let’s look into the history of both Fred and Sibylla.
Sibylla is the offspring of Clark and Holly Hope. Holly Hope is a lilac and Clark is a black tort which does not have any chocolate family member up 4 generations. But by breeding him to a lilac, the offspring are chocolate carrier. Sibylla is a chocolate carrier having the “Bb” gene.
Fred is the offspring of Thunder and Java. There is only a squirrel and a black otter up 4 generations. I am guessing that higher up the family tree, there could have been a “b” introduced. But it really surprises me that Fred is a chocolate carrier.
Thus, I have successfully obtain rabbits in the Chocolate Family through using rabbits from the Black Family. The probability is just too high but I am so lucky to get a little chocolate kit!

These are all the kits that Balian sired. They are so different in many ways. The torts are total out cross while the lilac/blue are produced through line breeding.

We are currently stuck at #12 and it is a pity to give up after coming so far.
I know everyone has been waiting for photos of the cute little kits at Meadow Haven, here they are:
On the other hand, Holly Hope’s kits turned out to be blue now that I can see the color of their eyes clearly. There is no red tint on their eyes so I can confirm that they are blue instead of lilac. They are really cute and this is the first time my wife requested to name a litter. Initially I wanted to name them Toble & Rone. Since they are not lilac, I agreed to allow my wife to name them. She named them Maqique & Mystique (pronounced as Magic & Mystic). I have been warned to keep these 2 – sorry, not for sharing. LOL!
