A Bunny Vacation

After a long, wonderful and productive year of sheer hard work, I decided to take a short vacation. It was a long overdue visit with my bunny family in the USA and I decided that the most appropriate time to visit was during the ARBA Convention since this is the time when most if not all my bunny friends will be gathering at the same place.

Unfortunately, not all friends that I met at the 88th ARBA Convention (Indianapolis) attended the 90th ARBA Convention which was held at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex, Harrisburg, PA (October 19-23, 2013) and to make up for that, I met many friends in person for the first time after many years of correspondence.

My trip to the USA this time around allowed me to set foot in Indiana, Ohio and Pennsylvania. It was Fall/Autumn and all three places were filled with beautiful colors.

I am so blessed and lucky to have a huge bunny family that not only welcomed me into their homes but also allowed me to visit their rabbitries and showed me around town. I was able to live as a local for a couple of day and it was an experience one will never get being a tourist.

After helping with bunny chores at the show room in Pennsylvania, we visited the National Civil War Museum and Hershey’s Chocolate World. We had a lot of fun learning about history and chocolate production.

One of the highlights of the 90th ARBA Convention was the passing of Tort and REW Lionhead as an official breed.

The other amazing thing that happened was the 1st presentation and passing of the Argente Brun. A truly magnificent  and gorgeous breed to look out for. I look forward to its passing as another official ARBA breed.

I must thank my bunny family and friends for their warm hospitality and taking good care of me throughout my trip to the USA. As I continue to miss all of them, I look forward to visiting them again.

Happy Laborious Day!

The Holland Lop Rabbit Specialty Club (HLRSC) Nationals has just concluded in Columbus, Ohio. My dad and I was looking forward for this event since last year because we sent some beautiful Holland Lop paintings to be given out as awards at the Banquet. We have been keeping the secret for the Awards Chairperson, Mrs. Karen Bailey. Now that the awards has been awarded to all deserving winners, we would love to share pictures of these paintings. I really like each and everyone of them personally and I have since received many compliments on them.

I would like to thank everyone who appreciates my dad’s artwork especially to Mrs. Karen Bailey for commissioning my dad to work on these paintings. We would like to congratulate all winners and hope that the paintings won would be the centrepiece in your wonderful homes.

Proud Of My Dad!

Every year at the ARBA Convention, HLRSC will give out an award to someone who has been in the hobby for a number of years and meet certain criteria through nominations. It is the Hall A Fame award. This year the 2010 HLRSC Hall A Fame award goes to Mr. Barry Hustins. And the award is in the form of a painting by my dad!

My good friend Scott Rodriguez won BEST FUR!

Congratulations to all winners and those who have placed well!

Just got news that the 2 paintings my dad sent for the auction helped the club raised some awesome amount! I am happy to hear that everyone had fun bidding! Thank you very much Colleen, Jennifer and Kay for updates on this. Really appreciate it!

Mr. Mark Carson of Iowa won the highest bid with this wonderful piece. Mark is HLRSC Zone 3 Director. Peggy Ross of TX owns it now.

Here's the other wonderful piece that has got a successful bidder too!

And just a little update of the 3 kits. They are going through the uglies right now so are not looking their best.

Bid For A HL Painting

I am helping my dad to send 2 Holland Lop paintings to be auctioned at Loveland, Colorado in April 2010. It is in conjunction with the 2010 HLRSC Nationals hosted by Hollands & Friends.

We would like to thank Kay Miller for appreciating my dad’s work and allowing us to share it with the rabbit world. We do hope that they will be well received and appreciated.

Have a nice Nationals everyone!

And for those of you who do not have the slightest idea why I am so obsessed with this bunny raising business, check out the video below.

We’re Listed On HLRSC!

The Holland Lop Rabbit Specialty Club is a very interesting and enthusiastic club to join. They send superb newsletters that put a lot of newsletter I have seen to shame. Each issue is packed with information and there are nice pictures to enjoy as well. Although, I have only received 2 issues thus far, I love the Hollander!

If you are into Holland Lops, be sure to visit HLRSC‘s website too. There are many informative articles written by many renown breeders & judges.

There is a link to the list of breeders around the globe registered as members with HLRSC and I am very happy that TLR has been listed as one of them. Truly honored to share the list with so many amazing and great breeders.

Tru-Luv Truffles: Day 10 & Other stories

In conjunction with receiving my ARBA membership card, I have also got myself an apron for my future grooming session. I must say it was rather kinky to be wearing an apron with bears on it. How I wish they were rabbit prints. Maybe I should get a plain apron and print TLR logo on it. It would be cute!

Anyhow, here’s how I look like wearing it.

I didn’t want to join ARBA at first because I felt it was irrelevant since we do not have shows here and I am not an American Breeder. But I realized that I was breeding imports from America so I should be a member too. Furthermore, I could get more news about the ongoing in US and keep abreast with the latest information in the rabbit world.

So I am happy to be a member of both the HLRSC and ARBA now.
