Hat In The Bin

Whenever I venture into something, I cannot help but to realize how things start to appear before my eyes. Last week, I took some photos of my bunnies wearing hats and posing with some interesting accessories I picked up while doing Christmas shopping.

The props seemed to work with scenic photographs I have taken during my many travels. I can safely say that I have found good use for these photographs.

Since then, my mind has been quite in sync with the ideas of bunnies with hats and surprisingly, I found a hat in the bin today. I thought the size was fitting for another bunny photograph session and could not wait to give it a try on one of the bunnies.

Lo and behold, it fitted perfectly and this is the final outcome:

Year of the Gentlebun

I really am enjoying myself this holiday. I find that photography sessions are very therapeutic for the soul and one of the things I enjoy doing “bunny wise” is taking nice photographs of my rabbits. One will sure to notice that this weblog is nothing but photographs and I am sure our loyal readers can attest to that.

Ne-Yo happens to be one of my favorite artists and like the title of one of his albums, I am giving 2014 the theme – “Year of the Gentlebun”.

Here are a couple of photos taken today and hope all of you like them.

Backdrop Goreng Garang

Beyonce have a stage name or what she calls alter ego. Sacha Fierce? Like an average person, I do have a liking for beautiful things. If you have not already notice, I like capturing photographs of my rabbits and most of the time with interesting backdrops. After yesterday’s photography session, I went into a backdrop rampage.

If I have an alter ego for this rage for backdrop it would be “Backdrop Goreng Garang” or simply translated means “Fierce Backdrop Fryer” – ROFL. Sheer nonsense I know…

Let’s see what I have been frying up today. Poor little Miracle became my camwhore but he was such a good boy that knew what was required of him. Got the job done in a few minutes.

Happy Bunny Weekend!

The kits are really growing up cute and cuddly. There are a lot of differences with this litter as compared to previous litters when they were at the same age in terms of appearances and feel. Groomed a couple of bunnies this morning and just had to take some photos too. Here are a couple of photos to share. Happy weekend everyone!

Stay where you are!

There is a reason why Holland Lops have this “bulldoggish” look especially around the region of their faces. I have written something similar but I believe some of my readers are still unaware exactly what contributes to this “wide” look.

If you would like to evaluate or find the reason why your rabbit have a narrow look, take a front profile of it and do the following:

Draw a triangle through the tip of the eyes and join up at the tip of the nose

Realign the 2 diagonal lines

Short diagonal lines are indication that you have good width of head.

And NO, I did not ask you nor condone anyone discarding any rabbit with longer diagonal lines! So before you twist the intent of my post, just need to get that clarified to shut you up! SheeeEEeeeeesh!

Chestnuts Visit!

Today TLR is very honored to have a very special couple visiting and taking photographs of the rabbits. As I have mentioned many times before, friends are the most important part of this hobby and along the way, I must say that I do not have many friends in this hobby but those that I have the privilege to befriends with are very special to me. I really appreciate the CHESTNUTS dropping by Meadow Haven. I do hope they both enjoy their short stay here (wasn’t that short actually). Love the chat. Thunder’s fur is growing back nicely. But I must mention that no matter how he is being shaved, this boy’s bone is super thick! Absolutely LOVE this little guy!

Skor is pretty awesome and it has been a while since he last posed for me but he did quite a good job naturally.

It has been difficult to get photos that could see his eyes

I have been asked which is my favorite rabbits among all that I have. My heart is normally partitioned equally among all living things that I care for. But there is a little bit more for this wonderful doe. She’s AMAZING! Adesh and Shahfiq had fun capturing her on stills. Take a look at all the poses that she could come out with. Absolutely adorable!
