And for all that, this is how Shiro repaid me…

Ouch!

Ouch!

Not his fault really. I have a bad habit handling the rabbits without wearing a shirt. That’s on my belly.

I just have to say that it takes a lot of trust on both ends. Nico of The Fluffies has been one of the responsible pet owners that I have grown to respect. She takes good care of her pets and give them only the best. What pleases me most about sending Shiro to Nico is that, she has planned ahead what she wants for her pets and she is one of those who champions neutering of pets. That being said, I released Shiro knowing very well she will do what is needed of her accordingly when the right time comes. I also have to apologize to Ms. F for not sending Seychel along as it is hard to find good vets in Penang who is well versed enough to spay rabbits (sad but true).

Last but not least, I would like to thank Daphie & TJ for helping me “ship” Shiro up north tonight. Have a blessed safe journey home to the both of them! We’ll find one day to gobble up at Nirwana Maju okie?

Don’t You Love Happy Endings?

Since before I attended the grand opening of Pet Epicure, Alicia has been very fond of Luna because she reminds her of a dwarf lop (UK Term) she once had. During the grand opening, I brought Luna as a gift for Alicia but she could not take her in at that time due to “logistic” matters. LOL!

I really appreciate the effort Alicia puts into helping animals. She always remind me that it is for the animals that we are working to hard despite all the trials and tribulations. She is one of the forerunners in the spay/neuter campaign. She was indeed the person that first introduced me to the idea of using spay/neuter as one of the conditions in my sales policy. I am so grateful to have known her.

Alicia have an ND called Monty and was sent for neutering not too long ago. Monty is a full time house bunny and guardian to her 3 children’s bedroom. According to Alicia, Monty have perfect toilet habits. I believe and hope Luna will be a good companion to Monty after her spay.

I went over to Pet Epicure today to collect some hay and at the same time something prompted me to ask Alicia if she wants me to bring Luna along. As usual, she gave me an excited “YES” indicating to me that she has got all the “logistics” sorted out. LOL!

Alicia’s children quickly warmed up with Luna and I learned something new today. I keep on learning new stuff from Alicia like all the time. Since my daughter is too young to handle a rabbit, I learn from Alicia that older children and hold a rabbit very easily. Just get them to wear a T-shirt, and wrap the bunny up while geting the child to hold on tight to the rabbit. You should have seen how the children adores all the animals around them. They have so much love to give. Very obvious that they are brought up with big hearts. Something that I want very much for my daughter.

The best thing of it all is that, my daughter really enjoyed herself interacting with Alicia’s children. I guess that is something you will get in a very homely environment such as the one in Pet Epicure. My wife also told me that it has been a while since she enjoyed such a homely environment. Pet Epicure is so welcoming especially you have a very happy family coming together hanging out at the shop while business goes on like the usual. No “MAY I HELP YOU” tagging along wherever you go. You just hang out like it was your home in Pet Epicure.

Speaking of which, a photo to prove my point:

I am sure Luna could attest that she fell right into place and got really cosy there. Can you spot her? Also want to thank Alicia for the fresh Timothy Hay she gave me. LOVE THEM (the buns I mean).

Updates on Charlyz, Eclipse & BlueBerry

Thanks to Kak Azian for these wonderful photos of the trio. After this post, I no longer need to write updates on them anymore. That is because, we’ve got a new bunny blogger in the house. Please visit http://lazzybunny.wordpress.com.

Here’s the trio:

For your information, I was told that Charlyz has her own Teddy Bear and she smells like strawberry. LOL! Totally spoiled rotten this little girl. Again, like Moesha, I like how thick she turned out to be.

Go Forth & Multiply BlueBerry!!!

I have sent BlueBerry to her new mission to expand the Tru-Luv empire. She is now living happily in Sri Bentong Rabbitry. I do not want to breed her to Skor again but at the same time hope to see how far we could develop her line further so I sent her to be with Eclipse.

I hope the linebreeding will work well and we shall see the outcome in another few months.

It was not an easy decision but I felt very comfortable and happy passing her to Kak Azian whom I have the privilege of sharing this passion.

May BlueBerry bring her all the joy!

Now the rabbitry is rather quiet with one less rabbit. I hope Kak Azian and her family enjoyed their short stay at TLR.

Bon Voyage Tru-Luv Moesha!

I just sent Moesha to her new owner. Would like to welcome annebunny to the big TLR family. A sweet young lady she is and she even brought along her 3 months old little bunny called Tinkerbell when we met up just now.

Here’s the last photos I took for Moesha. A true “celebrity” bunny fit for a “celebrity”.

Sorry for the bad pictures. I am awaiting annebunny to send me some at her new home.

Remember Them? It’s Floppie & Lumix!

It has been a while since we last saw these 2. There were from my initial lines. Their owner E was kind enough to send me a picture. I melted the moment I saw the photo because THEY ARE BONDED!

2 unfixed bucks bonded? How amazing is that? Look at both father and son enjoying a meal together. This is really a rare sight to behold.

Update:

Mr. E said that he did not do much to get them bonded except for putting their cages side by side. And they usually do not give much attention to each other when they are out to roam together. Here’s another photo:

Tru-Luv Eclipse: My First Regret

Remember this boy? He has grown to a very very handsome buck. And before you say anything D, you are right! We all expected Eclipse to turn out gorgeous. I am not too worried because Kak Azian was kind enough to agree that we use him as a stud in future. Maybe we should try him with BlueBerry. Shall give him some more time to grow into a super stud as he is still a junior now.

Here are some photos courtesy of Kak Azian. And you can read my mind, I regret the moment I saw these photos! LOL!!!!

Don’t you just love his HEAD!?

These are the photos of him when he was younger:

And as Laurie has written so many times, patience is the name of the game. And I can totally relate to her now when she said how she hates having a kit looking like a champ at 3 weeks and why she prefers late bloomers. Eclipse is a late bloomer. I hope Luna follows his footstep. I think she is…

Tridus & Tinga

I just received some photos of Tridus & Tinga from Daphie. Tridus has been recently neutered and now he’s housed together with Tinga. It is quite rare to find owners like Daphie who enjoys her rabbits as they are and takes the effort send Tridus for neutering. I have high regards for people with very clear objective and purpose for their pets. If they do not intend to breed, they will put their feet down and opt for neutering/spaying.

Unfortunately, I can’t say much for some people that I have came across in public forums and blogs, they always make me wonder if their libido/desire is much higher than their rabbits’. It is really sad to read about people that cannot even control their own lives trying to raise pets the correct way.

Oh well, I guess it’s better for them to learn the hard way. And with that said, let’s brighten our day with some photos shall we?

THANKS DAPHIE!!! Thank you for being such a great owner to these 2 buhnies! As I said, it is people like you that makes fighting for a good cause much more bearable and worthwhile.
