Dry Season

It is another dry season in Meadow Haven. Somehow I felt as if I have run out of inspiration to write a decent blog post. Not that I am under any unhappy infuences. It must have been the flu bug that is really bugging me at the moment.

At times like these, I really miss having pinkies in the rabbitry. Most breeders I know in US have most of their nestboxes filled this spring. I am very happy for them especially those that got show potentials.

On the other hand, it is Holland Lops Nationals this coming weekend. I pray that everyone will have a blast and many happy winnings. If only I could be there it would very interesting to see the Top Lops being chosen for this year.

As for now, just hope that this darn sore throat and fever goes away ASAP!

The Virtual Rabbit Show

I just created a Facebook group called Rabbit Show On Facebook.

This is part of my effort to give back to all rabbit lovers especially those that do not have rabbit shows in their areas. The only drawback I face with this group is that I cannot open up photo albums for each show. At the moment it is just in its conception and therefore there is still a lot of room for improvements. Your honest constructive opinions will be much appreciated.

Here are some instructions for you to get started in participating in the Virtual Show:

There will be a virtual show organized from time to time. The photos section will be cleared off before the start of each show. Look out for the updates on the Wall.

You as a show handler:

Post a photo of your rabbit in its best show pose and list down the following:

Breed:
Color:
Age:
Group Competing:

You as a judge:

Click on the rabbit that you would like to judge and include the following:

Comment:

Points: (0 – 10)

This is intended to be something fun. Nothing serious about it. And since most of us know that our rabbits are champs in their own rights, this could be a very good platform for us to get good opinions and at the same time not going through all the hassles and stresses for both ourselves and our rabbits.

Hope you enjoy it!

My opinion about PETA

I woke up this morning to find this link http://www.petakillsanimals.com/petasdirtysecret.cfm. It is a very interesting website exposing the “cruelty” of PETA. Let’s not jump the gun on assumption but instead take a step backwards to think hard about it.

Also, please do not get carried away as these are just my 2 cents on the issue. These are just my personal opinions and do not in anyway intend to offend any parties.

By right, organizations such as PETA should not even exist. In a way, PETA exists to simply clean up our junks! They are here to do what breeders and owners cannot do. CULLING!

It is good to put PETA out of business because that would mean that mankind truly understand what it is to be both responsible breeders and owners. When breeders breed out of hand and when owners abandon their pets, who are they passing their “unwanted” pets to? Let’s think of who is going to pick up after us when we are bored of our pets? Yes, it is these non profitable organizations such as PETA! Are you MAN enough to euthanize your own pet? NO! And what happens to your “unwanted” pets when you do not have the time like how you used to when you first get little Bingo? All we give ourselves are excuses that are so valid and justifiable in our own eyes. How human right?

If you want to shut down PETA, it is not how well you expose what they do in euthanizing pets you throw out. But instead, stop throwing out pets for PETA to euthanize!

Are you taking full responsible of your unwanted pets? There are many self righteous people out there. And those political correct people always cry foul when someone euthanize unwanted pets. Why not take those pets in instead of pointing fingers?

Are you good enough to take in the millions of unwanted pets every year and provide for them? If not, let’s stop judging and start giving a helping hand in solving the real issues here. Breeders, start breeding responsibly and owners start owning responsibly. Cuteness is not a good reason to get little Bingo home. Breeding for money is not the way to go. Start culling if you know that your products will be culled eventually. Yes, you need to be cruel to be kind sometimes. The earth have just enough space for that much unwanted animals so stop contributing to the problem.

Let’s not be quick to judge but instead, look deep into the root of the problem and solve that first. Someone just have to be the bad guy a way or another to clean up the mess! The least that we can do is help solve the problem and not contributing to it!

I do wish that one day, we do not need organizations such as PETA and SPCA. The day these organization stop operating, it would mean all pets have good lives!

A Gift From Mommy Dearest

Mommy dearest realized that I was down for the last couple of weeks and she wanted to give my spirit a little lift. She sent a surprise package my way. She did mentioned it and when I asked what it was, I told me to guess. I first asked her if it was something that I could wear. She said I might be able to. Now that I got the special package, I understand why she laughed when I told her that I will attach it to my bling bling. LOL!

The special package

What's in there?

This is awesome! A Holland Lop and my favorite color BLUE!

This is awesome! Image of Carmel and my favorite color BLUE!

Can you recognize that Holland Lop on the plate? I believe it is Carmel. The beautiful artwork is by the legendary Karen Bailey. Such a great artist!

The prizes for winning at shows normally make up of trophies and handicrafts. The plate reminds me of certain prizes given out during show. I felt like a champ having it. I love it very much!

I also believe that by receiving this beautiful plate, I have been officially initiated into the worldwide movement of Fellowship, Friendship & Fun!

Love Ya Mom!

Let’s Hear It From You

It has been almost 2 years of writing. This blog started back in 18th June 2007. This coming June TLR will be 2 years old. How fast time flies.

And thanks to Kak Azian for reminding me that I used to have a post in the local forum of my vision, I did a long 20 mins search and finally found it. I can’t believe that on 30th April 2007 I had this beautiful vision. And now looking back, I believe I am really getting there! Click HERE.

There are still a lot to learn and while I do that, I would like to ask my readers what do they want me to write for once. It will be nice to get feedbacks on how I can improve TLR further.

So please feel free to leave comments. Each and everyone of your comment will be treasured. Thanks in advance.

Cautiously Back

I am truly sorry for all the rantings for the past few days. I did mention that the quality of my post may deteriorate sometimes. It is still very hard to summon the inspiration to write these days due to the busy schedule.

I am very happy that things has been sorted out and I am definitely refocused on the bunnies thanks to the support of many. So many people has came forward to offer their assistance and it is good to know that we’re at a very good standpoint.

And since this blog is all about and for the bunnies in Meadow Haven, I’ll just like to update on them. It is business as usual for all of them for past week.

Kinda missed Shiro and even my daughter would ask where is he since the cage has been left empty. Take some time to explain to her that Shiro went home.

We’re all very grateful that Truffles has been saved. I wouldn’t forgive myself if I have let him go to some whacko jacko. I promised that I shall not go there for now unless absolutely necessary. He’s a lovely little guy always hopping out the moment I open the cage door.

I felt that Seychel suddenly had a growth spurt. She is a little bigger now. Or at least that’s what I realize. I must apologize for not taking a photo of her. I am still not comfortable putting up photos at the moment but nonetheless her mommy will soon get some photos from me.

As for Camior, a stork has been scheduled for his delivery. I’ll update on that too later.

Noobie will be spayed soon. Please pray for her.

Skor’s chilling out as usual.

And the rest are doing just fine.

I am starting to wonder why the hell am I updating in a manner as if I am a criminal. I thought this is a world with freedom to express. As you can feel, I am being reserved. Yes, this is what happens when a bunny gets cornered. They loose their personality.

But nothing makes me happier than writing especially my inner most heartfelt feelings. I have got so many mails pouring in for the past few days. I truly appreciate every single one of them. For those who took the initiative to write, from the bottom of my heart I thank you for your support and encouragement.

Rabbits has truly brought us all together. Sadly, I must also say that some just do not belong to and do not deserve this great big family.

FOCUS POCUS!

For past few weeks, my life has been filled with PEOPLE problems! I hate it. That is the reason why I have pets because I am just too tired of PEOPLE problems. I don’t need to put up with all these craps!

I want to enjoy having my rabbits! Nothing brings a smile straight from the heart besides having my family (including all the rabbits in my herd), bunny friends, close friends, TLR supporters and relatives.

I truly love my life without all these madness created by mortals. When it comes to sharing my rabbits, I am happier because I have no strings attached. As oppose to someone with a business running, I have no fear of making losses because at the end of the day, it is just a hobby and as I have mentioned many times before, you can’t even break even with a hobby. This gives me more options. Options best for both my rabbits and me. People just do not understand this. They think whatever consumer rights and bullshit applies to me but HELL NO!

The way I operate is definitely way below charity. Just do the calculations yourself. I feed my rabbits Oxbow pellets and on top of that unlimited Hay. Just do some survey on the prices and tell me how much it cost for me to keep the kits for 6 months. I am not too good with maths so you go figure!

And yet, people choose to make life miserable for me! I realized the difficult path that I have undertaken right from the start and I understand all the consequences that awaits me. But I will fight till the end. My fellow bunnies and friends will be with me till the end as well. Because we are fighting for a good cause. Not for mere humans, but for our dearly beloved 4 legged furry friends!

Repeat after me if you are with me.

IT IS ALL FOR MY BUNNY, IT IS ALL FOR MY BUNNY, IT IS ALL FOR MY BUNNY!

FOCUS ON MY BUNNY, FOCUS ON MY BUNNY, FOCUS ON MY BUNNY!

Now, skooOOOOoooo the NONSENSE!

I Fear For My Safety

I apologize to all my readers for not being able to write something more interesting. I just had the worst weekend ever and as if that was not enough, I now fear for the safety of not only myself but also my family. This is due to the reason that a psychotic and mentally unstable person is harassing me for my rabbit.

I have stated very clearly on my sales policy that I reserve full rights to revoke an agreement of sale. Somehow the message was not clear enough for this person and is being extremely difficult. It has came to a point of blackmailing and I am contemplating if to lodge a police report.

I am feeling very much in danger and I do not have the inspiration to write anything. I believe that I have disclosed too much information to the world and now at the crossroad.

I will continue writing nonetheless once I get this issue out of the way.

Please pray for my family and I. Thank you.

Just wish to share some details on the issue I have at hand. I decided over the weekend to terminate a sale agreement for reasons known to myself. At the end of the day it is my rabbits that I am talking about here. Who else have more authority over them than me right?

Anyhow, item no. 16 of my Sales Policy writes, TLR reserve the rights to revoke an agreement of sale at any point of time in its sole and absolute discretion, without the need to provide reasons for such revocation. Booking fee will be refunded.

And the policy has been in placed since 10th February 2009:

Highlighted in red is the publish date for my Sales Policy page

And the booking fee that I received for this particular deal that I terminated was on 6th March 2009:

The transaction of the booking fee into my account

I am currently making arrangement to refund the booking fee to the person in question. Unfortunately, the person in question refuses to provide me with the banking details I need for the refund. Instead, I was threatened with a set of terms in return.

Have You Seen An ARBA Leg Before?

I received an ARBA leg from Ms. Kay Miller on Friday. It is the first ARBA leg I have seen. For those who wants to know how a leg looks like, here it is:

The front of the leg with the information of the breeder, rabbit and the show the leg was obtained

The back of the leg showing how the GC and Best In Show certs look like. There are some rules on how a GC is to be obtained.

This is one hell of a leg because it outrun a mail from US I have been waiting for. I hope the mail arrives soon as I am getting quite paranoid already.

This weekend has been a very busy one for me and therefore I do not have much to write. Furthermore, I realized that my visit hits are much lower during the weekends. I guess everyone’s busy with their family.

It is EARTH HOUR at 8.30pm for those who are participating. I am definitely participating! Lights off at 8.30pm!
